If you’re familiar with Sonoma County, you probably know it is known for its beautiful vineyards, stunning scenery, and top-notch wines. Recently, I visited Balletto, Coppola, and Robert Young vineyards, three of Sonoma’s well known vineyards, for a day of wine tasting in Sonoma County.

Balletto Winery was our first stop of the day. Balletto has a lengthy history of making award winning wines. The property is quaint, and drew me in right away.
The wine tasting experience here was excellent. Balletto’s Estate tasting includes the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc, 2022 Rose of Pinot Noir, and 2020 Russian River Pinot Noir and 2020 Zinfandel. As we toured, the vineyard we also discovering the sustainable methods that Balletto uses to make their wines .
Francis Ford Coppola Winery – Website
Next, Coppola Winery was our second destination for the day.
Coppola Winery is renowned for its award-winning wines. The winery is named after Francis Ford Coppola, a renowned director. Rustic, the restaurant, has a lovely terrace and top-notch service. I didn’t do a wine tasting here in an effort to pace myself for the day’s tastings. For lunch, the linguini with clams tossed with olive oil, onions and parsley is delicious!
Here, you can stroll around the picturesque grounds and of course, take several photos. This location also has a bocce court and a swimming pool. Following lunch, we went on a museum tour which features memorabilia from famous films.
Robert Young Winery – Website
The last stop of the day was the Robert Young Winery, which is known for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The winery is located in the Alexander Valley, and the property’s vineyards are among the oldest in the region. We were treated to the 2022 Melon which came home with me. The Estate flight is $40 which is waived with the purchase of 2 bottles. The tasting included 2020 AV Chardonnay, 2019 Malbec, 2018 AV Cabernet Sauvignon.
At Robert Young Winery, we enjoyed a guided tasting overlooking the stunning vineyards. We tasted a range of their best wines, including the Melon and their Chardonnay. Because the Melon is both refreshing and unique, I bought a bottle to take home.
Visiting Balletto, Coppola, and Robert Young wineries is an amazing way to spend a day in Sonoma. Each winery offered a unique experience, and we were impressed by the quality of the wines and the hospitality we received. When planning a day of wine tasting, make sure to drink responsibly and consider hiring a driving service.
