As some of you may have seen on my Instagram, I got the chance to spend a long weekend in San Antonio, Texas.
I went to San Antonio for a work conference that happened to be the same weekend as my birthday, so I was able to eat/drink my way through San Antonio in my free time.
Here’s a little San Antonio Guide based on all the restaurants & bars we tried. Hopefully this is helpful for planning your next trip to this city in Texas. Happy traveling!
where to stay
the thompson
This is where we stayed in San Antonio. If you are looking for a luxury, convenient place to stay, I highly recommend staying at The Thompson. It’s situated right along the River Walk in downtown San Antonio and a short Uber ride to some of the sights. The pool is a nice place to relax. The rooftop bar The Moon’s Daughters is a must try.
mokara
This is the only Forbes four-star hotel in San Antonio that I considered for my stay. It’s touted as the ultimate wellness destination right on the River Walk. If you have some extra $$$ to throw around, a stay here might well be worth it.

where to eat
pete’s tako house
the tex-mex here and hospitality here makes it a must try in san antonio. this was based on a recommendation we received and the portions were impressive and the food was delicious from the empanadas to enchiladas. you’ll want to come with an appetite. a bonus is that you can make your own mimosa.
brasão brazilian steakhouse
for an incredible dinner with great cocktails. I had plenty of flavorful meat flavored to perfection and amazing wine. the service here was great and the dessert was yummy as well. it was quite drive from downtown but totally worth the drive.

where to drink in san antonio
the moon’s daughter
was my favorite spot to end the evenings. We went for a Saturday night cap and the view of the city at night was stunning. it has a cool, relaxed vibe and a dj. This is a place you can grab a drink while overlooking the city
elsewhere garden bar & kitchen
for daytime hangs. We didn’t get to check this out but it looks instagram friendly and a spot to relax & great for small or large groups!

where to shop
pearl farmers market
historic market square
